Practical information

The participants coming from some countries might need a visa and a valid health insurance (it is not covered by the workshop).

• Participants from UE countries do not need a visa to enter Croatia.
• Participants from non-UE countries and arriving in Trieste might need a Shengen visa. If they will take the bus provided by the Workshop organization, they should ask for a multiple-entries Schengen visa but they do not need a visa to enter Croatia

How to reach Lošinj

You can reach Lošinj in many ways.

Transportation to Lošinj for Participants

Participants are invited to take advantage of the transportation (most probably by coach) provided by the workshop organization:

• from Trieste to Lošinj on Sunday, 28^th August, and
• from Lošinj to Trieste on Saturday, 3^rdSeptember.

The trip will take 4 to 5 hours, and the indicative departure time-table is the following (times will be subject to slight changes).

In case you intend to organize your journey by yourself, you can reach Lošinj in the following ways.

By car

The easiest way to travel to Lošinj is by car.
A ferry leaves from Brestova for Porozina every hour, from 5:30 to 22:30; there is also a ferry connecting Valbiska to Merag, from 5:45 to 22:30.

On that site a very user-friendly interactive map can be used to find out the ferry connections to reach Cres Island (choose "District Rijeka 1" in the map if you will be arriving through Venice/Trieste/Lubljana).

By ship/ferry

From Venice (ferry service site , and timetable ), Cesenatico/Ravenna/Rimini/Pesaro (ferry service site )

By bus

From Trieste you can reach Rijeka in about 2 hours (timetable ) and then it takes another 3 hours or more to reach Lošinj (present timetable ).

By plane

If you choose to fly to the airports of Zagreb and Rijeka , please check the bus service to Losinj.
