Lošinj Island is placed in the northern Adriatic sea, in the Kvarner bay.
It is in the southern part of the Cres-Lošinj archipelago, the climate is distinctly Mediterranean and the average summer temperature is about 24ºC.
The favourable climate, hotels and villas, afforestation, well-equipped and easily accessible beaches have given rise to intense development of tourism.
The larger town of the Island is Mali Lošinj, placed on the Island main gulf and harbour.
Veli Lošinj is placed on the eastern coast of the southern part of the island.
A road to Veli Lošinj runs from the south-eastern part of the bay.
As nautical tourism started to develop intensely, there is a marina in the port of Mali Lošinj, equipped for all types of yachts and motor boats.
